One of the true treasures of Zadar is the golden coffin of St.Simeon (the man, enriched by the Holy Spirit, who held the baby Jesus and addressed the Virgin Mary and St.Joseph on Jesus' greatness). In the golden coffin one can see the incorrupt body of this great Saint. The body lies in the Church of the same name in downtown Zadar. (To learn more about St.Simeon, please read the Gospel according to Luke 2, 25-35). The Church bearing his golden coffin is open to the public, the coffin lies elevated above the altar. One can see St.Simeon occasionally, for the top of the coffin is enclosed with a layer of transparent glass. One of the great treasures of the World!
